Nigeria’s first nuclear power plant will be built with the help of Russia –

Nigeria announced its decision to build the country’s first nuclear power plant with the help of Russia. According to SAPA news agency today from the Nigerian capital, Abuja, told the Minister of Science and Technology of Nigeria Alhasan Bako Zack.
According to him, “it is Russian built nuclear power plant for us together with Nigerians in accordance with the recently concluded an agreement in Moscow. The most populous country in Africa, where around 150 million people, is experiencing an acute shortage of electricity.
The Minister spoke at a press conference with Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency Yukiey Amano, who arrived in the country with the first foreign visit in new capacity. As the minister said, the IAEA would provide technical assistance in building nuclear power plants with the help of Russian specialists, Gazeta.ru reports.
Nigeria is one of the IAEA since 1968 and has repeatedly received from him assistance in the implementation projects involving the use of peaceful nuclear energy in medicine, the use of water resources, food security, nuclear safety and nuclear waste. To date, this African country is among the top ten trade partners of Russia.
