Tayyip Erdogan: Turkey and Iran to strengthen peace in the Middle East – Islam and Muslims in Russia and in the world

Turkish Premier, in response to western accusations that Iran is playing a destabilizing role in the Middle East, said that the Tehran government, in contrast, contributes to peace in the region. This Tayyip Erdogan said at a press conference in Tehran during his two-day visit.

According to an Iranian site PressTV, Erdogan stressed that the friendly relations between the countries of the Middle East region are the most significant, especially in light of the recent wave of terrorist attacks. “We are witnessing the bombing at each point in the Middle East region, which killed many civilians,” – said the Turkish prime minister, having in view the recent string of terrorist acts in Iraq, Afghanistan and Pakistan, which killed hundreds of civilians over the past few days. “This demonstrates that global players are not performing their duties,” – continued Erdogan. At this critical moment, he said, Iran and Turkey, and played a leading role in ensuring peace and stability in the region.

Also, during his two-day visit to Iran, Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan met with the spiritual leader of the Islamic Republic – Ayatollah Sayed Ali Khamenei. Turkish Prime Khamenei thanked for the hospitality extended by the Iranians during his two-day visit. In turn, the spiritual leader of Iran said he was glad to see Erdogan and his delegation in Iran. “Here you are among your brothers and sisters” – said Ayatollah Khamenei.

The meeting was held behind closed doors and lasted for about an hour. After the meeting, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, with his delegation went to Turkey.
