Legislators argue that the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) organized the so-called infiltration in Congress, and calls for initiation of investigation into espionage.
A representative from the North Carolina Sue Myrick cites an internal document organization, dated January 2007, which discusses the possibility of sending trainees CAIR on Capitol Hill “to influence congressmen responsible for policy decisions directly affecting the Muslim community of America ».
In the Council document states that the special importance for Muslims to have a legal committee, intelligence, and homeland security, writes« Washington Times .
representative of CAIR, Ibrahim Hooper said that this document is property of the organization, stolen wormed his way into its ranks by secret agent.
“They acted in a spy in our organization for many months, he stole our property, and all that they can bring us is that we are sending interns to the Congress?” – he said, adding that the theft has already made a statement to the police.
«Muslims are interested in international affairs, civil rights and liberties, First Amendment issues (the Constitution), freedom of religion, so it is natural that they are interested in the work of certain committees, – Ibrahim Hooper said.
